Serving the community since 1976, Community Treasures Thrift Shop offers a variety of merchandise, including men’s, women’s, and children’s apparel, accessories, linens, housewares, collectibles, books, stationery and toys.

 

The thrift shop is a full circle approach to philanthropy. All the merchandise sold in the shop is donated by local community members. The shop is led by a manager who oversees 40+ volunteers who are responsible for cashiering, inventory, donation intake, pricing, etc. The store is known for its quality inventory—clothing is laundered and mended as needed. All electronics are tested and only sold if in working order.

 

The shop is owned by the Galesburg Community Foundation. Money made from the shop’s sales are given to the Galesburg Community Foundation to support grants to area nonprofits and scholarships to students. However, most customers do not know this about the shop and have little knowledge about where their dollars end up after making a purchase.

This logo was great to do, we got a lot of ideas to finally get this design that talks of this treaure of the community of Galesburg. Colors represent each face of the fundation, donations, volunteers and the shop.
